“Reflection of another self ” is a piece through which I wanted to portray my process of self-discovery and self-acceptance, particularly as it has evolved this past year. It combines music and poetry in response to numerous recent events. In witnessing racism, sexism or a global pandemic, I have found myself turning inward, trying to set aside the fears and insecurities these forces often cause. Through this piece, I hope to explore ways of freeing ourselves from these burdens – of understanding who we are and how we want the world to be.
